When Fate Meets Destiny

They say that time heals all wounds.

I disagree.

I believe that God has a purpose for all of us.  And true healing comes from him.

A year ago life seemed strange to me.  A new beginning with myself and adjusting to changes.  Hurting someone along the way as I heard God tell me " You are not to be in a relationship right now, this is not what I want you to be doing".  Cant say I regret my decision however.  It was God I heard.  I believed every step of the way.

I was faithful to The Lord and walked with him.  Guiding me every day.  Having an amazing support system and still hearing God.  "BE STIlL" He said.  And still it was.  Learning and growing with him as he held me close to him and slowly healing my broken heart.  I was fine, not needing anything/but me and my little family and friends, my support system.   It seemed as the entire year, I was listening to Skip Heitzig and Pastor Dan Carroll at Water of Life Church and every lesson seemed to be about love and relationships. I learned to so much about the differences of women and men and relationships and what a relationship guided by God is to be like.   We recently starting learning about Abraham and Faith.

Just when I was comfortable with myself and my wounds have been healed, tying up loose ends and being truly happy in my life, a wrench comes in.  Not one to take apart my life but to finish completing it.  Making me realize that every decision I had made prepared me for this wonderful man that was never a part of my plan, but now I cannot live without.  I heard God telling me "you deserve this, and I have blessed both of you with love that you will have for eachother and a friend for life". I can honestly say that he is everything that I have been asking for from God.  From day 1, this man has been the friend he was to be initially and respectful.  Not realizing that this man that I met along time ago would be the one that God intended for me, but since the first date, he was familiar as if he was hand picked for me and with almost every thing we have in commong.  God blessed me with the very desires of my heart that I have been asking for.  From me being the goofy chick that I am to accepting every bit of me and loving me for being me and sharing the same views on a relationship.  He does not love me for what I have been or what I will become. But accepts every part of me without judgment.

I refuse to give away too much, as our life will be private.  But the one thing that all will realize and know is that HE makes me happy and I cannot wait to finish out my life with him.

Better still, this is not just a decision for me, but a blessing that my children are in favor of.

All is right because God has blessed us with eachother.

Just Askin

Me: God, can I ask you a question?

God: Sure.

Me: Promise you won't get mad.

 God: I promise.

Me: Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?

God: What do you mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late.

God: Yes.

Me: My car took forever to start.

God: Okay.

Me: At lunch they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait.

God: Huummm.

Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call.

God: All right.

Me: And on top of it all, when I got home I just wanted to soak my feet
in my new foot massager and relax, but it wouldn't work!!!
Nothing went right today! Why did you do that?

God: Let me see, the Death Angel was at your bed this morning
and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life.
I let you sleep through that.

Me: (humbled): OH...

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your
route that would have hit you if you were on the road.

Me: (ashamed)

God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't
want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss
work.

Me: (embarrassed): Ok...

God: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going
to give false witness about what you said on that call, I  didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

Me: (softly) I see God.

God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was
going to throw
out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to
         be in the dark.

Me: I'm sorry God.

God: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me.....in all  things, the good
         and the bad.

Me: I will trust you.

God: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always
better than your
         plan.

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything today.

God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God, and I
         love looking after my children.

In matters of Love, is it better to think with your heart? or with your head?

If you know me..you know one of my favorite shows is Sex & the City and this was a quote that Carrie had used when she was writing a column.  I don't remember the rest of the episode, not right now anyway.  But this phrase always stuck in my head.

When you are in love....should your mind and their thoughts prevail?  Usually, as women, we know when something is wrong. Is this our head? Our heart? Or just that women's intuition?

When there are problems but you love the person, what do you do?  Listen to your heart? or your head?  At some point....we have to use our logical sense about us, don't we?  Otherwise......we get walked on or give up on what we want....right?  Then who wins?  If you are overcompromising yourself...then you essentially lose yourself and what YOU want.  The heart has hope but can always be wrong. At some point, your logical side needs to kick in, right?

I posted this question on Facebook and I got a little bit of feedback on it.  The best feedback was this from my brother "when both the heart and head are no longer at equilibrium its time to move on. Easier said than done but you can't be happy if both head and heart are fighting each other".

I have a girlfriend dealing with some shit with her man.  But she is avoiding the heart completely.  Even though her feelings are still creeping in and she can't seem to handle it.

Currently, I have 3 girlfriends, and I swear...we are like the Sex & the City girls.  All dealing with man issues....we have our Charlotte, Samantha, Miranda and Carrie.

Guess who I am......LOL....

Someone said 2012 would be a year of changes.....

I recently decided to make a life changing decision.  THAT I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD.

But time has gone on in the same way, and I needed this.....

Why do people become complacent?  Stuck in a rut, comfortable and "used to" the mundane and routine?

Life is exciting, and happy, and busy and there is a big world out there, there is so much to do and so much to experience.  But yet, we are willing to give up what we want.  For what???? obligation?  A sense of security?

If something is not working...it isn't working...and you have to end the cycle.  If you're unhappy with your job..get a new one...if you're unhappy with your hair, get a new style.  We only live once and we have to do what is best for us.  Only YOU know what that is.  And you could only take so much...before you cant take any more...

And for my girlfriend, you know who you are...you are strong, amazing, and deserve someone to love you the way you want to be loved.  If he can't forgive you, then that is your sign to move on.  In love, you forgive.  In time, he should forget....but if he can't, and making you suffer, that is just plain cruel.

Most people don't like change, but you have to know when to let go...and do for you to make you happy.

A Poem I Wrote a Long Time ago....posted just for you my friend

I will not divulge my friends name but this person knows that it's for them.  I wrote this a long time ago and totally thought of you when I reread this again:

I hope what you are doing is going to make you happy.....I love you very much and I wish nothing but happiness for you:

There is someone for everyone, or so I'm told.
How do you know your person has come?
Do you feel it in your soul?
Deep down in the pit of your stomach or is it really in your heart?

Many people can tell you what they think, but everyone is different, not one is the same,
what one person feels is not what we obtain.

We all have different lives; personalities, and react to life in our own special way, what may be right for me,
is not how your life will be.

Take every love experience in stride,
you will know when the one is right, you will feel "True Love" deep inside.

I AM a believer in true love and soulmates...I hope you have found yours!!!!

10 Signs it’s Time to Let Go

10 Signs it is Time to Let Go
Holding on is being brave, but letting go and moving on is often what makes us stronger and happier.

Here are ten signs it’s time to let go:
  1. Someone expects you to be someone you’re not. – Don’t change who you are for anyone else.  It’s wiser to lose someone over being who you are, than to keep them by being someone you’re not.  Because it’s easier to mend a broken heart, than it is to piece together a shattered identity.  It’s easier to fill an empty space in your life where someone else used to be, than it is to fill the empty space inside yourself where YOU used to be.
  2. A person’s actions don’t match their words. – Everybody deserves somebody who helps them look forward to tomorrow.  If someone has the opposite effect on you, because they are consistently inconsistent and their actions don’t match up with their words, it’s time to let them go.  It’s always better to be alone than to be in bad company.  True friendship is a promise made in the heart – silent, unwritten, unbreakable by distance, and unchangeable by time.  Don’t listen to what people say; watch what they do.  Your true friends will slowly reveal themselves over time.
  3. You catch yourself forcing someone to love you. – Let us keep in mind that we can’t force anyone to love us.  We shouldn’t beg someone to stay when they want to leave.  That’s what love is all about – freedom.  However, the end of love is not the end of life.  It should be the beginning of an understanding that love sometimes leaves for a reason, but never leaves without a lesson.  If someone truly loves you, they will never give you a reason to doubt it.  Anyone can come into your life and say how much they love you, but it takes someone really special to stay in your life and prove how much they love you.  Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right person, but the right person is always worth the wait.  Read The Road Less Traveled.
  4. An intimate relationship is based strictly on physical attraction. – Being beautiful is more than how many people you can get to look at you, or how others perceive you at a single glance.  It’s about what you live for.  It’s about what defines you.  It’s about the depth of your heart, and what makes you unique.  It’s about being who you are and living out your life honestly.  It’s about those little quirks that make you, you.  People who are only attracted to you because of your pretty face or nice body won’t stay by your side forever.  But the people who can see how beautiful your heart is will never leave you.
  5. Someone continuously breaks your trust. – Love means giving someone the chance to hurt you, but trusting them not to.  When you completely trust a person, without any doubt, you’ll automatically get one of two results - a FRIEND for life or a LESSON for life.  Either way there’s a positive outcome.  Either you confirm the fact that this person cares about you, or you get the opportunity to weed them out of your life and make room for those who do.  In the end you’ll discover who’s fake, who’s true, and who would risk it all for you.  And trust me, some people will totally surprise you.
  6. Someone continuously overlooks your worth.Know your worth!  When you give yourself to someone who doesn’t respect you, you surrender pieces of your soul that you’ll never get back.  There comes a point when you have to let go and stop chasing some people.  If someone wants you in their life, they’ll find a way to put you there.  Sometimes you just need to let go and accept the fact that they don’t care for you the way you care for them.  Let them leave your life quietly.  Letting go is oftentimes easier than holding on.  We think it’s too hard to let go, until we actually do.  Then we ask ourselves, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
  7. You are never given a chance to speak your mind. – Sometimes an argument saves a relationship, whereas silence breaks it.  Speak up for your heart so that you won’t have regrets.  Life is not about making others happy.  Life is about being honest and sharing your happiness with others.
  8. You are frequently forced to sacrifice your happiness. – If you allow people to make more withdrawals than deposits in your life, you will be out of balance and in the negative before you know it.  Know when to close the account.  It’s always better to be alone with dignity than in a relationship that constantly requires you to sacrifice your happiness and self-respect.  Read Stumbling on Happiness.
  9. You truly dislike your current situation, routine, job, etc. – It’s better to be a failure at something you love than to succeed at doing something you hate.  Don’t let someone who gave up on their dreams talk you out of going after yours.  The best thing you can do in life is follow your heart.  Take risks.  Don’t just make the safe and easy choices because you’re afraid of what might happen.  If you do, nothing will ever happen.  Chances must be taken, mistakes must be made, and lessons must be learned.  It might be an uphill climb, but when you reach that mountaintop it will be worth every ounce of blood, sweat and tears you put into it.
  10. You catch yourself obsessing over, and living in, the past. – Eventually you will overcome the heartache, and forget the reasons you cried, and who caused the pain.  Eventually you will realize that the secret to happiness and freedom is not about control or revenge, but in letting things unfold naturally, and learning from your experiences over the course of time.  After all, what matters most is not the first, but the final chapter of your life, which unveils the details of how well you wrote your story.  So let go of the past, set yourself free, and open your mind to the possibility of new relationships and priceless experiences.  Read The Power of Now.
And the one thing you should never let go of is hope.  Remember what you deserve and keep pushing forward.  Someday all the pieces will come together.  Unimaginably good things will transpire in your life, even if everything doesn’t turn out exactly the way you had anticipated.  And you will look back at the times that have passed, smile, and ask yourself, “How did I get through all of that?”

The Top 3 Reasons Relationships Fail

Why Relationships FailBased on the intrinsic complexity of personal feelings, there are an endless number of reasons why relationships fail.  However, I believe there are 3 primary factors that form the basis for which every other problem stems.  When a relationship turns sour you can be sure that at least 1 of these 3 factors is to blame.

1.  Do I really like her, or just her gestures? – Everyone loves attention.  When a member of the opposite sex goes out of their way to make you aware of it, it feels good.  If they repeat the action a few more times and you return the favor, a shallow relationship forms.  The true measure of compatibility occurs shortly there after.  Once the initial excitement of this attention wears thin, what are you left with?  Do you really like who this person is, or did you just enjoy their gestures?  On occasion people you like will take actions you dislike.  Likewise, people you dislike will get your attention by taking actions you do like.  It’s important to understand both sides and be capable of distinguishing between the two.

2.  We have stability and reliability, but I’m bored. – Once a relationship gets serious this is one of the top killers.  We all want excitement in our lives.  One of the most exciting things in life is discovering the unknown.  Curiosity is what keeps us moving forward, but one must learn to properly hone curiosity.  The first part of a serious relationship is primarily about the discovery of your partner’s entire aura.  But once you know everything about them, where do you turn for a source of excitement?  The answer is quite simple.  Discover new things and create new experiences together.  The only thing more fulfilling than a new experience is the act of sharing that same experience with someone else.

3.  She has wonderful qualities, but I get stuck on her flaws. - It’s always easier to destroy than to create.  Likewise, it’s easier to be negative than it is to be positive.  Many relationships fail because both parties concentrate their attention on their partner’s flaws instead of the qualities they love about them.  You learn the most about somebody by figuring out their strong points, rather than disputing their weak points.  Over time both partners can work on their weak points collectively, so long as each person keeps a positive attitude and an honest line of communication.  Keep in mind that it is impossible work on the weak points of a relationship if you are incapable of seeing your partner’s strong qualities.

10 Commandments for Happy Relationships

10 Commandments for Happy Relationships

10 Commandments for a Healthy Relationship
Love is not just about finding the right person, but creating the right relationship.  It’s not about how much love you have in the beginning, but how much love you build until the end.  A relationship should be healthy, caring, loving, kind, upbeat, and positive.  It should make your smile a little wider and your life a little brighter.
Happy, healthy personal relationships are one of the greatest joys of life.  So starting today, choose to take control of your relationship with your significant other.  Here are ten commandments to follow together.
You deserve to be with somebody who makes you smile – somebody who doesn’t take you for granted somebody who won’t hurt you.

I.  We will remember that every person and relationship is different.

People don’t fall in love with what makes you the same; they fall in love with what makes you different.  Be your imperfectly perfect self.  We are not perfect for everyone, we are only perfect for those select few people that really take the time to get to know us and love us for who we really are.  And to those select few, being our imperfectly perfect self is what they love most about us.
Don’t compare your relationship to anyone else’s – not your parent’s, friend’s, coworker’s, or that random couple whose relationship seems perfect.  Every couple makes their own love rules, love agreements, and love habits.  Just focus on you two, and making your relationship the best it can be.

II.  We will listen to each other openly, without judgment.

It’s far too easy to look at someone and make a snap judgment about them.  But you’d be amazed at the pain and tears a smile hides.  What a person shows to the public is only a small fraction of the iceberg hidden from sight.  And more often than not, it’s lined with cracks and scars that run all the way to the foundation of their soul.
Never judge.  Learn to respect and acknowledge the feelings of your significant other.  Pay close attention to them.  Be present.  We don’t always need advice.  Sometimes all we need is a hand to hold, an ear to listen, and a heart to understand.  There is a time to speak out and a time to remain silent.  True wisdom comes from knowing the difference.  And this difference can make or break a healthy relationship.  (Read Love and Respect.)

III.  We will say what we mean and mean what we say.

Share what is going on in your mind and heart.  Share your deepest thoughts, needs, wishes, hopes, and dreams.  Open communication and honesty is vital to healthy relationships.  Give the people in your life the information they need, rather than expecting them to know the unknowable.
Information is the grease that keeps the engine of communication running.  Start communicating clearly.  Don’t try to read other people’s minds, and don’t make other people, especially your significant other, try to read yours.

IV.  We will support each other through good times and bad.

Be there through the good, bad, happy, and sad times – no matter what.  Be willing to provide a listening ear, a hug, and emotional support in all circumstances.  Trust that you can count on each other, and be available not only when it’s convenient, but when you need each other the most.

V.  We will be loyal.

True love and real friendship aren’t about being inseparable.  These relationships are about two people being true to each other even when they are separated.  When it comes to relationships, remaining faithful is never an option, but a priority.  Loyalty is everything.

VI.  We will live by the truth.

Inner peace is being able to rest at night knowing you haven’t used or taken advantage of anyone to get to where you are in life.  Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons.  Run a marathon.  Live so that when others think of fairness, integrity and reliability, they think of you.  (Read The 4 Agreements.)

VII.  We will spend quality time with each other.

Make time for each other.  With our busy schedules we often forget to relax and enjoy the great company we have.  In human relationships distance is not measured in miles, but in affection.  Two people can be right next to each other, yet miles apart.  So don’t ignore someone you care about, because lack of concern hurts more than angry words

VIII.  We will appreciate each other and help each other grow.

Having an appreciation for how amazing your significant other is leads to good places – productive, fulfilling, peaceful places.  So be happy for them when they’re making progress.  Cheer for their victories.  Celebrate their accomplishments, and encourage their goals and ambitions.  Challenge them to be the best they can be.  And be thankful for their blessings, openly.

IX.  We will settle disputes peacefully.

Not much is worth fighting about.  Heated arguments are a waste of time.  If you can avoid it, don’t fight.  Step back from arguments with your loved ones.
When you feel anger surging up and you want to yell that vulgar remark on tip of your tongue, just close your mouth and walk away.  Don’t let your anger get the best of you.  You don’t have to be right or win an argument.  It just doesn’t matter that much.  Give yourself some time to calm down and then gently discuss the situation.

X.  We will love and respect ourselves as individuals too.

Our first and last love is self-love.  Don’t rely on your significant other, or anyone else, for your happiness and self worth.  Only you can be responsible for that.  If you can’t love and respect yourself, no one else will be able to either.
Accept who you are completely – the good and the bad.  And make changes in your life as YOU see fit – not because you think anyone else wants you to be different, but because you know it’s the right thing to do, for you.  (Read The Road Less Traveled.)

Week 2 of working out

Ok, so I have been working out for the last 2 weeks atleast 3 days a week and you know what!  It is SO hard for me to bounce back into shape.  Before i was 30, all I had to do was work out a couple of weeks and you could see results and defination. Now it seems like I'm working out harder than I EVER have and I just am not seeing results.  I know I have never worked my abs out as much as I am now, nor have I ever ran 3 times a week.  But I am still not really seeing much difference in my body.  OK, OK, I am seeing my legs get a little bit thinner, but DAMN!!!! I want to see MORE results.
My daughter is gone for another 3 weeks and a little part of me is happy because she is able to "see the world" a little, but I'm also sad she is gone.  My little love bug.  I know she has already seen the Grand  Canyon and they will also be visiting Mt. Rushmore, amongst I dont know what other stuff she will be seeing.  She is probably very happy right now because she doesnt have to train in karate.

My boy is not my "boy" anymore, he is getting older and ...... thank God.  Because we get along so much better now.  Saturday was day 1 of his 3 days of drivers ed classes, next year, he is a senior.  Hard to believe that I am getting so old and the little boy that was born 6 weeks early, is already going to be 17 and a senior.

Relish every moment of life you have with your children.  Life happens and before you know it, they will be on their own.

Until later:

So I have been pretty busy lately, as you can tell. I haven't really blogged but, that's a good thing I guess.  I started going to the gym again, which is great! and I started running again...I haven't ran in years, but if you know me, you know I used to like to run and would run atleast once a week.  My leg muscles are so out of shape and I'm trying to get in shape.  I love the gym, (when I get in a sync).  I'm not so much concerned about my weight, just want to really tone up.

In all the years that I have worked out, I have never had those 6 pack abs that my daughter has..yes, my daughter.  She is 11 just so you know.  So when i grow up, I wanna be like CJ.  LOL.  i would post a picture, but I dont have any in my laptop.

Speaking of that little booger! She will be gone for the next month.  I have to say, I'm gonna miss that llittle love bug.  Although, it might be kinda nice then I can concentrate on working out hard.  I find it hard sometimes to actually get there because part of me feels like I have to be home.  Which is funny because all my kids go to karate every day except sunday.  So I have time, I just need to make it.  And just stay dedicated.  I have all gyms for 24 hour, so i have no reason to not go because they are open 24 hours.  atleas most of them are.  the one by my house is so that's the one i go to most often, but i have all gyms, with the pool and spa.  sauna and steam room.

So, wish me luck for my feet to be swift, and my muscles mighty and my endurance strong.

thanks.

Back from Camping

My getaway.....we have been back for about a week and a half now and just really havent had time to get on the computer and blog.

First of all for those of you that don't really know me, I love camping, especially where we go.  We go to a place that has NO CELLPHONE SERVICE!!!! YES!!!! that is a true vacation.  No work!  There is nothing out there but dirt, bushes and water...oh and bears and snakes...but thank God those didnt bug us.  Nor have they since we have been camping in the same spot.  Driving up, you definately see some snakes on the road, and rattlers at that.

There is nothing but you and nature. No benches, no running water.  YES!  I camp there...some of you may be surprised, but then again, if you really know me, you know that this would be right up my alley.  I love to be out in the sun (when I'm not getting migranes) and just explore.  Funny thing, I was "exploring" away from our camp and found 3 bundles of firewood.  Out where we camp, that is like finding gold, because it gets COLD at night!!

Kennedy Meadows is where we go and its more like dessert mountains.  The days are hot this time of year and the nights are cold no matter when you go.  So much so that you need to have a really good sleeping bag and a nice warm body to cuddle up to is always nice.  Once the shade hits, its cold in like 5 minutes.  Days are so super hot, although, this year, they are having a late summer so it was pretty much perfect, 75 degrees out. But the air is so clean and unfiltered up there, it felt more like 88.  The sun is dangerous up there and we all came back a little burnt.  That was my first tan of the summer.

There is a stream up there, which, the water is cold no matter what time of the year.  Mid summer, the temperature of the water is bearable, but this month, it was just way too cold to get into.  Still beautiful to just watch.  And perfect sound of nature to fall asleep to at night.  I did take my bikini, but didnt actually get to show it off.  Although I did wear it for a little bit to get some sun.  If we were any closer to the water, we would have put the grapes and sodas and beer in the water to keep cold, but this time, we werent as close as we wanted to be.  The sites arent pay sites and they are first come first serve.

We invited a few friends from the dojo and quite frankly, I think that they have probably never really camped at a place that has nothing provided for you.  I know that before I started camping, I didnt know what to expect.  Now that I know, our family is very prepared.  But it took us years to know what we needed and how much food and water to really bring without having too much or too little.

Nights are nice up there.  Cold none the less, and turn in time is early for me up there, about 9:30.  You would be amazed at how dark it actually is up there without any lights from a big city in in the background.  And the amount of stars that you see out there is unbelievable.  There is so much stripped away from our vision living in a big city and it reminds me of how big of a world we really live in and how much of our daily hustle and bustle lives keep us away from real beauty in the world.

For some of us, we never get to truly experience anything other than our "little world that we live in".  And thankfully, I have a husband that takes me away from my busy world for a vacation.  (Next year....HAWAII)  LOL

Its amazing that you are up in these mountains, but still reminded that you are in a desert.  On our little
hiking excursion, I took my camera and decided to take a few pictures.  I took this picture to the right only because, it was strange to me that a cactus can actually grow out a rock.  Funny!  And then, I decided to take the one to the left of a crazy ant hole, these ants werent small either, they were actually kinda scary looking.  Look closely, you can see them.  And the most amazing one that caught my eye was this huge tree that had millions of ants moving their home.  I was so close to this tree that even Stan was getting the heebie jeebies.  Look closely......do you see them?

Even though I do love camping, I have to say that nothing beats the comforts of home...Running water and electricity.  4 days is just about perfect for me to appreciate mother nature and everything that we really have on a regular basis.

But we always have great memories of camping.........

Going on Vacay!!!

YAY!! Do you know how badly i need this vacation?  We are going camping.  Yes, I am a big camp girl...I love it... I like to hike, sit around the fire, and get yucky dirty.  The comforts of home are never what you think of until you go somewhere where you have to pee in a bush, or get up in the middle of the night frozen because ..... you just cannot hold your alcohal.  LOL

The spot we go has absolutely no phone service, so it will truely be a vacation.

Tatlk to you all later...hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Absolutely mentally exhausted!

Today is Tuesday and can I just tell you, I am completely mentally exhausted from work.  (sigh)  It just seems like I really cant keep up.  I know there is always something to do at work, but I just dont understand how some managers get to go in, barely dish out work and go home after 4 hours.  I must be doing something wrong if I'm practically living at work.  I have been so busy that I havent been able to work out in weeks.  I'm hating it, because not only am I gaining weight, but I'm also pissy.  Atleast when I went to the gym, I was more enjoyable and elevated.  I have been so busy that I havent even been able to get on to blog.

Since the last time I blogged, I decided to get my old writing journal out of hiding and read a few that I had written many many years ago.

ofcourse, some of them were dumb, but there was one that I had written for Devin when he was a year and a half.  VERY VERY cute....maybe some time, I will be brave enough to add it on here to share.

A humongus project I am working on right now is transfering all my ITunes music from the laptop to the house computer.  I am only half way done and already have like 80 gigs of music.  I think I'm gonna have to buy a new IPod.  Do they make a 400 gig?  LOL...doubt it but, damn, i never realized i had so much music.  Although I am VERY eclectic when it comes to music, I am across the board when it comes to listening.

When I clean the house, i usually listen to Motown/Oldies or Smooth R & B.  When its cloudy out and gloomy; smooth R & B.  I am highly affected by the weather so when spring is here and the sun is out shinning, perfect temperatur outside (about 76/77) Trance or Dance is definatelly on....

You know I have issues when I'm not even listening to the music when I drive into work or while I'm working.  I am just so overloaded right now, that I dont want any distractions.  However!

This weekend I took friday off so that we can have a camping weekend.  I was going to say that I cant wait for that...but really, I'm very negetive about the trip afterall for many reasons that I wont go into.

If I don't blog soon, enjoy the long weekend.  Wanna clean my house while I'm gone?????  LOL

I power love my mom

Since today is mother's day, I thought I would write about my mom.

I was a bratty kid when I was a teenager, I must have given her a reallly hard time, it took me many years to finally truly love my mother and appreciate her.  She loves me, believes in me, supports me and is one of my best friends.  I am truly blessed for the woman that she is.  If it wasnt for her, I would not be the woman i am today...and I dont think I'm that bad.

Thsnk you Mom, for all that you are and all that you have made me.

Mother's Day May 9, 2010

Ok, today is Mother's Day.  Is it really that big of a deal?  Just my opinion but, Mother's Day is for when your kids are older.  If you have teenagers or younger kids, ya, they love you, but they really don't appreciate you.  I think its crap to have your kids make you breakfast, clean the house for you or buy you flowers on this ONE day.

I know when I was a kid, I never really appreciated my mom.  How could I?  I was a selfish teenager.  It wasn't until I was older, did I finally understand all the sacrifices my mom AND DAD made to raise a family, buy us all we needed and still be able to make sure there was food on the table EVERY DAY.

I strongly feel that if you really appreciate your parents, show them more often than on ONE day a year.  This day is a cope out for all those other "kids" out there that don't really appreciate their parents.  On this day, you're supposed to remember your mom, not that I don't, but, its not that big a deal.

I'm sure later, I will have to adjust this post.  please forgive me...I'm a little pissy right now.

CJ's dress up for Ms. Fontana Pagent May 1, 2010

So, last Saturday, I got to spend dress up time with my daughter. She was Stan's date for the Ms. Fontana Pagent, in which Fontana Karate-Do sponsored one of the Contestants.  But I am trying to find out how to put CJ in the Teen Ms. Fontana.

We started out doing her make up.

Isnt this girl just gorgeous!  then we did her hair.

The day before, we had went shopping for her dress and her shoes. Which she absolutely loves.

The theme of the Ms. Fontana Pagent was Masquerade, so I bought her one of those masks.

Stan said that all eyes were on CJ and every little girl that was there wanted to be her.  She definately is gorgeous and she knows it.  She got to go back stage with all the contestants too.  She had a great time.

CJ and Stan went out to eat after.  I think they went to Chili's but when they came home, she was pooped and her little feet hurt from the heels.  He was carrying her in.  LOL

Thinking about ME

As I sit here, watching Stan write a poem about his beloved EKT team and their accomplishments, I can't help to wonder why it is that I haven't been inspired for a long time to write something of my own.  I used to love to write poems.  So much so that I barely had to think of a situation, and words would just flow thru my mind.  I once went out on a date with someone, and the instant I got home, I took out my journal and wrote an 8 verse poem in about 3 minutes, and to this day, it is still one of the best I have ever written.

I wonder, was it that my heart felt so intensly for him or was it just that my daily life wasn't so hectic that I actually had emotions flowing easily.  Maybe, I am just not that person anymore that can be poetic.
It seems these days that my time is so monopolized with work, kids, pets, bills, karate, and God knows what else, that I just don't really have time to sit and allow myself to think, but only to try to wind down and relax.  I know that when I sit and watch TV, nothing else flows through my mind, but only trying to soak up the current episode of House, Biggest Loser, Smallville, and any other of my shows that I watch and hoping that I can get a decent nights sleep without an ambien.  (which by the way.....does NOT happen).  Getting out of work at a decent time is unrealistic lately.  What happened to the good ol days when all I had to do was go in for about 4 hours and still have a nice day to spend with my kids, go shopping or go do a walk or 2 before I got home?

Hearing Stan's poem makes me wonder "will I ever be passionate again about something I love" or will I be able to express my feelings about anything to be able to write?

IDK, can figure it all out tonight...til later.....

THINK POSITIVE......

Saturday in Heaven!

Today is Saturday and, for once in a long time, I have the house to myself, I didn't have to wake up early, no kids to take to karate, no shopping to have to do, no saturday meeting.  This is one simple moment that relish and treasure. I hardly ever get these days where I can wake up at any time I wish, lay in bed til I want to get up and then just kinda lolly gag around and nothing urgent on my Saturday agenda.

I went to bed last night about 12:30 (this morning I guess) and woke up on my own at 10:10.  Doesnt that just sound wonderful, getting a good sleep.  I dont know about you, but for me, I get around 6 to 8 hours a day, which is sufficient, but it's definately nice to be able to sleep in a little more. Just kinda layed there in bed thinking..."what am I gonna do right now"?  and I decided to get up in my pj's, make coffee, take the dogs out, feed them and blog.  No cleaning the house today, no doing laundry, no phone calls or texting.  I am a simple creature really.  To me this is sheer heaven.  Being able to watch tv, drink coffee and do nothing......(sigh)

So, this week, I have been extremely busy at work, but for those of you who really know me, you know that I prefer to be at work.  For those of you who don't know me, I am a property manager for community associations/private communities.  Really I just think of myself as a glorified paper pusher...LOL  But my job entails me to be a problem solver and have knowledge as a plumber, landscaper, roofer, attorney, general contractor, not to mention customer service, which if you really know my personality, you know that I hate stupidity, which sadly is how I describe most of my homeowners and SOME board members.  My day is always the same but different in every way.  Sounds strange, but really can't describe a regular day.  All I really can say a regular day to me is already knowing before I walk into the door what I have on my desk and what I'm gonna do, then getting bombarded with calls or other things of "urgent" nature and everything else falls to the wayside.  THAT ladies and gentlemen, is a regular day for me...LOL

This week I was reminded of life and how in a split second, your whole world can change.  My friends boyfriend was seriously injured in a boating accident.  I wont go into the details, but you can read them if you'd like.....it is at lennyclem.blogspot.com.  Because of this reason, I starting to think of how she must be feeling and really.....I can't fathom all the emotions that she must be going through.

But it made me really think of my marriage with Stan and although we have gone through so much together and are still with eachother, I have to say that I am a very lucky girl.  I love Stan with all my heart and I know he loves me, there is rarely ever a time that we dont tell eachother every day that we love eachother or kiss hello and goodbye.

Nor is there a day that I don't kiss my kids goodbye.  I never really wanted kids when I was younger and never really saw myself as the person I am today, but I can truly say that I would probably be a very selfish person if these kids were not in my life.  They are my everything and they are so much like me.  I always think of myself as selfish in a way, but also very caring and giving when I have it to give...my kids are the same way.  And As you can see in this picture, they are happy.  Everyday we make sure that we ask eachother how our days were and if anything interesting happened.  It our way of catching up.

CJ, my daughter is a very independant girl and wakes up in the morning all by herself and gets ready.  Stan takes her to school everyday while I get to sleep in (another piece of heaven) but she ALWAYS comes in and give me a goodbye kiss and says I Love You.  Up until last week, I took that for granted, but now, I enjoy her as much as I can.  She is the most beautiful little girl and has an AWESOME AWESOME personality, not to mention, a mean little fighter and the best hook kick. She is 11 and I started carrying her to bed again....LOL...sounds funny but she loves it...she is the biggest baby and in her own way still wants to be considered one, but she definately is a pre-teen.  And let me tell you.....mommy has a nice big gun.  I'm gonna need it because that girl is gorgeous.

Devin, my son is 16 and although we have had some really difficult times, he is a good kid and definately loves his momma.  As he is getting older, I am reminded that he is turning into a young man.  Smart, funny and strong minded.  He has a plan to go to college and really wants to work, although, Stan doesnt want him to, he wants him to focus on school.  I have to say that I agree. Although he fights me on showing him affection, there is never a time now that I don't try to hug him or give him a kiss.

Please read my friends blog.  I guarantee, after reading it, you will feel the same about your loved ones.  Never miss an opportunity to tell them you love them, miss them or hold them, for one day, your whole life can change.

Until next time.....Love eachother!

Administrative Assistants Day

K, how crappy of a person am I?  Today was ... I guess National Administrative Assistants Day and I cannot believe that I completely forgot about my secretary, Terri.  She in my opinion is the best assistant I have ever had and I would fight to keep her.  In my office, everyone makes a big deal about birthdays and new employees, celebrate almost every holiday and have a lot of days off, so this is kind of a big day, plus, like I said, my secretary is the best.  I really need to go get her something, but for someone that you really don't know on a personal level, other than flowers or a movie card, what do you get them?  I'm not big on the bath and body works things or candles, she probably has a million of them because she used to be a Home and Garden consultant.  I wish I could give her a day off, but ...... then that would mean I don't have her for a day.  LOL  Any ideas?
